Professional Standards

The Standards Behind the Coaching Relationship

Coaching often involves conversations about difficult decisions, professional relationships, organizational dynamics, leadership challenges, and personal development. Clients should understand the principles that guide those conversations.

The following commitments describe how Neximus Coaching approaches professional coaching and leadership development engagements.

01

Professional Integrity

We conduct coaching relationships with honesty, professionalism, and integrity. We seek to accurately represent our experience, qualifications, services, methodologies, and the nature of the coaching relationship.

We will not knowingly make false or misleading claims about coaching outcomes, credentials, capabilities, assessments, or professional services.

02

Confidentiality & Trust

We recognize that meaningful coaching depends on an environment where clients can speak candidly and explore difficult questions. Information shared within a coaching relationship will be treated with appropriate care and confidentiality consistent with the coaching agreement and applicable law.

At the beginning of an engagement, we seek to establish clear expectations regarding confidentiality, information sharing, and any circumstances in which confidentiality may be limited.

03

Client Autonomy

The client remains responsible for their own choices, decisions, actions, and outcomes. Coaching is designed to encourage reflection, awareness, exploration, and intentional action—not to make decisions on behalf of the client.

We respect each client's right to determine their goals, priorities, values, and course of action.

04

Respect & Professional Dignity

We seek to create a coaching environment characterized by professionalism, respect, curiosity, and constructive challenge. Clients may bring different experiences, perspectives, leadership styles, backgrounds, and ways of thinking to the coaching relationship.

We are committed to engaging clients with dignity and respect while creating room for honest dialogue, thoughtful questions, and productive disagreement.

05

Clear Professional Boundaries

We maintain appropriate boundaries between coaching and other professional services. Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, medical treatment, legal representation, financial advice, or another licensed professional service.

When a client's needs appear to fall outside the appropriate scope of coaching, we may recommend that the client seek assistance from an appropriately qualified professional.

06

Coaching, Consulting & Advisory Clarity

Neximus Coaching may provide coaching, facilitation, leadership development, consulting, or advisory services depending on the engagement. These approaches are related, but they are not the same.

When appropriate, we will seek to make clear whether we are asking questions and supporting the client's thinking as a coach, sharing experience or perspective as an advisor, facilitating a group process, or providing a defined consulting deliverable.

Regardless of the approach, the client or organization retains responsibility for final decisions and actions.

07

Conflicts of Interest

We seek to identify and appropriately address actual or potential conflicts of interest that could affect the coaching relationship or our professional judgment.

When a potential conflict becomes relevant to an engagement, we will seek to address it transparently and determine an appropriate course of action.

08

Organizationally Sponsored Coaching

When an organization sponsors coaching for an employee or leader, we recognize that both the individual being coached and the sponsoring organization may have legitimate interests in the engagement.

We seek to establish clear expectations regarding objectives, roles, confidentiality, progress reporting, and what information may or may not be shared with the sponsoring organization.

The substance of coaching conversations will not be disclosed to an organizational sponsor except as agreed with the client or as otherwise required by law or the applicable engagement agreement.

09

Responsible Use of Assessments

Leadership and behavioral assessments are used as development tools—not as labels. We seek to help clients understand assessment results in context and use those insights to support greater self-awareness, communication, and leadership effectiveness.

Assessments are not presented as medical, psychological, psychiatric, or clinical diagnoses unless specifically administered by an appropriately qualified professional for that purpose.

10

Responsible Use of Technology & AI

Technology may be used to support scheduling, communication, assessments, documentation, research, or other aspects of the coaching practice. We seek to use technology thoughtfully and in a manner consistent with our professional responsibilities.

We will exercise appropriate judgment when using artificial intelligence or other technology in connection with client work, particularly when confidential or sensitive client information may be involved.

Technology should support professional judgment and the coaching relationship—not replace them.

11

Commitment to Development

Leadership development requires continued learning from both the client and the coach. We are committed to strengthening our own coaching capability, leadership knowledge, professional judgment, and understanding of the environments in which our clients lead.

12

Ending a Coaching Relationship

Coaching should continue only while it remains appropriate and productive. Clients may raise concerns about the coaching relationship, request changes in approach, or discuss ending an engagement consistent with the applicable coaching agreement.

Neximus Coaching may also recommend concluding or modifying an engagement when coaching is no longer appropriate, productive, or within the scope of our professional capabilities.

Our Commitment

Trust Is Part of the Work.

Leadership development requires candor, reflection, challenge, and trust. Our commitment is to create a professional coaching relationship in which those conversations can take place with integrity, respect, and a clear focus on the client's development.
